arteries. On the other hand, the drivers don't help... " Philly is considered by its denizens as one of the more car-friendly cities. More so than NY. Jambs are likely to occur when weather is inclimate – snow fall at end of work day, or summer Friday rush hour traffic toward the Jersey shore. |

One-way streets are generally alternating in direction. Broad and Market are two-way, most major E-W thoroughfares are. (see table & map) Traffic flows anti-clockwise around City Hall. East of Broad Street the Odd numbered streets flow north, Even
flow south. Broad and Market Streets are bi-directional. |
